Specialist School Nurse
We have a Specialist School Nurse team that supports Leycroft Academy with a variety of services, from the annual height and weight recordings, incontinence support and helping mediating with your GP and their understanding when dealing with a child with autism. The team’s aim is to provide healthcare for children and young people in special schools that is personalised, with minimal disruption to the school timetable. They work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, lunchtime supervisors, social workers and transport guides to ensure that each individual pupil’s needs are met.

Cygnet

Parents of autistic children face the usual positive and difficult challenges of parenting and quite a few more. Attending a Cygnet autism support programme gives parents and carers an opportunity to develop their understanding of autism and consider ways to support their child.
It also provides the opportunity to meet other people in a similar position and hear about their experiences in an informal but supportive atmosphere.
