Pupils are admitted to the school on receipt of an official request for placement from Birmingham City Council and provided that a suitable vacancy exists, admission can take place at any time in the school year.
If following a placement review the school is no longer considered to be appropriate, a pupil may transfer to an alternative placement at any time in the school year.
All pupils leave our school at the end of year six and preparations for transfer begin in year five. A meeting with parents is arranged to discuss the transfer process and group or individual visits are organised for parents and pupils to establish parental preference. Parents are informed of placement allocations directly by Birmingham City Council.
A series of preliminary visits may be arranged by the school to familiarise pupils with their new schools.
Below is a presentation that is delivered to year 5 parents around May/June when you will receive your secondary preferences form. These forms need to be given to Leycroft or direct to SENAR by the 31st October. We can help support with this decision but ultimately parental preference is priority. We do advise a visit to your preferred school in the June/July or September. Any questions please contact the school and request to speak with Zoe Redding (Assistant Head/SENCO).
